Michael H. Bozek

GREENFIELD/SPENCER: Michael H. Bozek, 81, formerly of Greenfield/Spencer, died peacefully on Tuesday, January 9 in Dodge Park Rest Home in Worcester.

He leaves his daughters; Robin L. Bozek and her companion Michael Tierney of Avon, CT., Wendi A. Sanderson and her fiancé Keith Fritze of Charlton, and Heidi E. O'Brien and her husband Christopher of Sturbridge; 6 grandchildren, Alec, Aidan, Ryan, Eric, Kelly and Jessica; as well as 3 great grandchildren, Axel, Maverick and Brewer, his brother Raymond "Butch" Bozek of CA, his sister Gloria Bourie and her husband Carl of Milford.

Michael was born in Worcester, son of William and Rita (Derosier) Bozek. He spent his career working as a police officer in several communities and retired as a police officer from the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Leeds, MA. He was a track star athlete at David Prouty High School in Spencer, MA .  After high school he served his country in the U.S. Army both domestically and overseas.  He was proud of his service and continued to serve his country as a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Army National Guard. He attended Westfield State University where he graduated with a bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice.

He was an avid runner and thoroughly enjoyed raising and engaging actively with the homing pigeon community.

A public graveside service with military honors will be held on Friday, January 12 at 10 A.M.  in Mary Queen of the Rosary Cemetery, Spencer. There are no calling hours. The J. HENRI MORIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 23 Maple Terr., Spencer is assisting the family with arrangements.
