Michele A. Potter

SPENCER: Michele (Steiger) Potter, 51, passed away October 7 after a fierce yearlong battle with Peritoneal cancer. She leaves her two sons, Logan and Colin, her parents, Richard and Margaret (Tucker) Steiger of Spencer and her brother, Paul Steiger of Charlton. She will also be greatly missed by her niece, Megan Steiger, nephew, Thomas Steiger, her best friend and soulmate, Bob Bogusz, and numerous cousins in North Brookfield and Minnesota. Michele graduated from David Prouty High School in 1990 and Fitchburg State University in 1994. She spent most of her life living in Spencer and as a teacher for 13 years in the Leicester school system. Michele was most passionate about teaching and shaping her 4th grade students for the future. She enjoyed her yearly trips to Minnesota for "Cousin Camp", vacations with Bob and his girls, but mostly cheering on her boys at all their athletic events. The family wants to send a special thanks to the teachers at Leicester Elementary School and the "Football Moms" at Leicester High School for all their help, support and donations.

Her funeral will be held on Friday, Oct. 13th. from the J.HENRI MORIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 23 Maple Terr., Spencer with a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 7 Church St., Spencer. Burial will follow in Mary,Queen of the Rosary Cemetery, Spencer. Calling hours are Thursday, October 12, from 4:00pm to 7:00pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in Michele's name, may be made to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, P.O. Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284-9168 or a charity of one's choice would be greatly appreciated.
