Owen M. Slein Jr.

LEICESTER: Owen M. Slein, Jr., 90, of Marshall St., died Wednesday, Sept. 19 at Knollwood Nursing Home in W.Boylston.
He leaves his brother William F. Slein of Orlando, FL., his longtime friends and caregivers, Seamus and Judith Doherty of Leicester, several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by sisters Bernadine Drapeau in 2015 and Anne Berlo in 2017.
Born in Leicester, the son of Owen M. and Alice (Bolland) Slein he was educated in Leicester schools, later graduated from the old North High School in Worcester in 1946 and served his country with the U.S. Army.
He began working in the floor finishing business in 1960 and owned and operated Owen Slein Floor Sanding and Refinishing in Leicester until his retirement in 2008.
He was a longtime member of St. Joseph-St. Pius X Parish where he was a collector.
His funeral will be held on Friday, Sept. 21 from the MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main St., Leicester with a funeral mass at 11 a.m. in St. Pius X Church, 1153 Main St., Leicester. A calling hour will precede the service on Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home.
