Peter Grant Pratt

d. December 4, 2023

EAST BROOKFIELD: Peter Grant Pratt (73), of East Brookfield, passed away on December 4, 2023, after a short and courageous battle with brain cancer.
He leaves behind his loving wife Susan (Mortensen) Pratt, his eldest son Nathaniel, his wife Nicole and their daughter Chava, and his youngest son Nicholas, his wife Jasmine, and their daughters Esmé, Lilah, and Auden. He also leaves behind his sisters, Kathi, Suzona, Patricia, Madeleine, and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, Gilbert and Adeline Pratt, and his brother Paul.
Anyone that knew Peter would tell you that he was a devoted family man. "Popsie," as he was known to his granddaughters, was always willing to help others and share a laugh or two. His four granddaughters were the lights of his life, and the only place he enjoyed more than being down on the floor playing with them, was running around with them outside. From his silly antics to his playful heart, there was no shortage of love for his grandchildren. He was also incredibly proud of his two sons, Nate, a firefighter/paramedic, and Nick, an aerospace engineer. Some of his favorite times were his camping trips with his sons, his weekend visits to VT to visit Nick and his family, and getting coffee with Nate and his daughter.
Peter lived a full life. He grew up in Spencer, MA, in a house his father built by hand. He enlisted in the US Army in 1969 and became a combat photographer, serving a tour in Vietnam. He later transferred those skills to civilian life, where he was a successful portrait and events photographer for over 50 years. He met his wife, Sue, and they spent 45 wonderful years together. Outside of raising his two sons he enjoyed scuba diving, nature photography, boating, fishing, and reading. He was happiest in nature with his camera or fishing pole, or at home spending time with his family.
Memorial calling hours will be held on Friday, December 8, from 5-7pm in the J.HENRI MORIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 23 Maple Terr., Spencer. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to: secure.uso.org
