LEICESTER: Phyllis I. (Carmichael) Burtt 87, of Whittemore St., died Thursday, Nov. 3 at Beaumont Nursing Home in Worcester.
She was the wife of Keith N. Burtt who died in 1978. She leaves a son Elwood K. Burtt and his wife Barbara of Leicester, four daughters Constance A. Burtt of Leicester, Kathleen F. Goodale and her husband Glenn of Petersham, Brenda M. Lekstrom and her husband David and Gloria J. LaMonda and her husband James all of Leicester, a brother Vaughn Carmichael and his wife Jean of Spencer, 8 grandchildren; Aprile Mero, Matthew LaMonda, Keith Burtt, Benjamin Burtt, Ryan Lekstrom, Erik Lekstrom, Alec Goodale and Patrick Goodale, 6 great grandchildren: Dan, Mike, Cody, Jocelyn,Faith and Deegan, and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by a brother Charles Carmichael and sisters Ethel Carmichael and Helen Jay.
Born in Monticello, Me., she was the daughter of Melbourne and Gladys (Wade) Carmichael. She was a nurse's aide at the former Clark Manor in Worcester for 27 years, retiring in 1994.
Phyllis was a longtime member of Oak Hill Bible Church in Oxford and was also a member of the Ladies Fellowship and enjoyed working at their Holiday Fairs. The family would like to thank Salmon Hospice and the staff at Beaumont for their compassionate care of their mother.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, Nov. 11 at 1 p.m. in the Oak Hill Bible Church, 40 Sacarrappa Rd., Oxford. Calling hours at the MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main St., Leicester are Thursday, Nov. 10th from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial in Rural Cemetery, Worcester will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Oak Hill Bible Church in memory of Phyllis Burtt, 40 Sacarrappa Rd., Oxford, Ma. 01540.
