A graduate of Leicester High School, Randy proudly followed in the footsteps of his father and uncles by serving in the United States Navy. Over the course of 20 years, he was stationed in Sicily, Guam, Japan, and Diego Garcia, and served aboard the USS Kearsarge and USS Cape Cod. His military service was a source of deep pride and fostered the adventurous spirit that defined his life.

A true New Englander, Randy was a devoted fan of Boston's sports teams—the Red Sox, Patriots, Bruins, and Celtics. He also had a lifelong love of film, embracing both modern cinema and classic works.

Randy is survived by his sister, Sue Mercer, and her husband, Robert; his sister-in-law, Susan Streeter; and many nieces and nephews—Robert Mercer III, Michael Mercer, Pamela LaFleur, Andrew Streeter, Kathryn Streeter, and Jeffrey Streeter—along with their families and numerous great-nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Bill Streeter. He also leaves behind his cousin, Deb McAdoo, with whom he shared a special bond, and his lifelong friend, Tom Navaroli, both of whom were like family.

After retiring from the Navy, Randy worked in several roles, most recently with Americold, where he was admired and respected by colleagues. He will be remembered for his patriotism, devotion to family and friends, and his zest for life.
