Raymond C. Lyons, Jr.

SPENCER: Raymond C. Lyons, Jr., 74, of Spencer, died Wednesday, Dec. 6th in St. Vincent Hospital, Worcester.He leaves his wife of 46 years, Patricia (McNamara) Lyons, his son; Sean M. Lyons and his wife Erin of Worcester, grandsons; Aidan P. and Brendan A. Lyons of Worcester, his brother; James D. Lyons of No.Billerica, sisters; Mary L. McGowan and her husband John of Lowell and Elizabeth A. George and her husband William of Shrewsbury, sister in law; Anne Marie Faiola and her husband Joseph of Worcester and brother in law; Richard McNamara and his wife Mary of Northboro, several nephews and a niece. He was predeceased by his son Daniel P. Lyons in 2009.
Ray worked at Norton Co. in Worcester prior to his retirement.
He was born in Lowell, the son of Raymond C. Lyons, Sr. and Mary A. (Sherman) Lyons and later graduated from Billerica High School and Worcester Junior College.
Ray was an avid sports fan. He volunteered his time in the Spencer/E.Brookfield Little League and Spencer Merchant Basketball league coaching his sons. Recently, he loved watching his grandsons in their sporting events. Most importantly, Ray was a devoted Husband, Father and Papa who loved his family and will be greatly missed.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, Dec. 11 at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 7 Church St., Spencer. Friends and family are asked to go directly to the church. Burial will follow in Mary, Queen of the Rosary Cemetery, Spencer. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Mary, Queen of the Rosary Parish, 46 Maple St., Spencer, MA 01562.
