Richard Laventure

Richard N. Laventure 88, formerly of Howe Village, died Friday, June 17 in St. Vincent's Hospital in Worcester.

He was the husband of Constance (Thibault) Laventure who died in 2008. He leaves his brother Robert G. Laventure and his wife Else of Leicester, a half sister Catherine Schutzer of Spencer, several nieces and nephews.

Richard was a sheet metal worker for Lusignan Bros. in Worcester for 17 years, retiring in 1984. He previously worked at Klevin Shoe Co.

Born in Sherbrook, Canada, he was the son of Omer and Carmelia (Beauchene) Laventure, and later served his country with the U.S. Army during WWII in Europe.

He was a member of Our Lady of the Rosary Parish and the American Legion Post 138 in Spencer.

The funeral will be held on Tuesday, June 21 from the J.HENRI MORIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 23 Maple Terr., Spencer with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 7 Church St., Spencer. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. A calling hour will be held on Tuesday prior to the Mass from 8:45 to 9:45a.m. in the funeral home.
