Richard W. Messier Sr.

SPENCER: Richard W. Messier, Sr., 73, of Spencer, died peacefully on Monday, March 6th in his home.
He leaves his wife of 40 years, Ruth A. (Brown) Messier, his brother; Roland A. Messier, Jr. and his wife Donna of Sturbridge, his sisters; Elaine J. Devlin of Webster and Michelle M. Messier of No.Brookkfield, many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his son; Richard W. Messier, Jr. in 2016, his sisters; Denise Messier in 2021 and Jeannine M. Clark in 2022.
Dick worked at Reed, Rolled Thread & Die in Holden for 30 years, retiring in 2016, he then was a truck driver for Howe Lumber in East Brookfield.
He was born in Worcester, the son of Roland A. Messier, Sr. and Lorraine M. (Lapierre) Messier and attended David Prouty High School in Spencer. He was an avid sportsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a lifetime member of the Spencer Fish & Game Club.
Private services and burial in Mary, Queen of the Rosary Cemetery, Spencer were held at the convenience of the family. The J.HENRI MORIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 23 Maple Terr., Spencer is assisting the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Second Chance Animal Services, P.O.
