BROOKFIELD — Ricky R. Mauch, 62, of Brookfield, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, November 5th, at his home. He leaves behind his two loving daughters, Gracyn A. Mauch of North Oxford, and Kaylie R. May and her husband Zachary of Leicester; his beloved mother, Katherine Mauch of Castana, Iowa; his brother, Floyd Mauch and his wife Rita of Walthill, Nebraska; and his cherished granddaughter, Mia Mauch, who was the light of his life.
Ricky was born in Castana, Iowa, the son of the late Floyd Mauch. After high school, he went on to serve his country with pride in the United States Air Force, achieving the rank of Sgt. as a Nondestructive Inspection Specialist. Following his military service, Ricky graduated from Embry-Riddle University in Arizona. He then dedicated over 25 years to Wyman Gordon, later continuing his career with Hansen Aerospace until his retirement in 2020.
Beyond his professional and military achievements, Ricky was known for his contagious laugh, his quick wit, and his endless supply of dad jokes. He also found joy in the simple pleasures of life such as singing along to country music, cooking, and working around the house. A proud high school football player, Ricky carried that same team spirit throughout his life—always showing up, lending a hand, and lifting others with his humor and warmth.
Above all, he was the best father and "Opah" his family could ask for—devoted, dependable, and endlessly loving.
A funeral Mass for Ricky will be held on Monday, November 10th at 11 a.m. in St. Pius X Church, 1161 Main Street, Leicester. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Leicester. Calling hours will be held on Monday from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. at the MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main Street, Leicester, prior to the Mass.
