Rita M. (Benoit) Whitney

AUBURN; Rita M. (Benoit) Whitney, 84, of 8 Horseshoe Dr., died Monday December 6, at Saint Vincent Hospital.

She was the wife of Leroy F. Whitney who died in 1990. She leaves a son, Lee F. Whitney and his wife Michelle of Auburn, four daughters; Donna Frappier and her husband Brian of Auburn, Susan Brasel of Illinois, Gail Whitney of Auburn with whom she lived, Lynn Whitney of Worcester, 8 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

She was pre-deceased by a brother, Norman Benoit.

Born in Worcester, she was the daughter of Leo & Cora (Deschenes) Benoit.

Mrs. Whitney was a collator at Worcester County Newspaper and previously worked at Worcester Envelope. She was an auxiliary member of the Cherry Valley American Legion.

The Funeral will be held Thursday, December 9 from the MORRISON-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main St., Leicester, with a Mass at 10 A.M. in St. Joseph's Church, 189 Oxford St, Auburn. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours will be from 5-7 P.M. Wednesday. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Second Chance Animal Shelter, P.O.
