SPENCER: Rita Bernadette Duran, 77, passed away on Tuesday, December 24th at her home.
She leaves her son, Adam Murray and his wife, Heidi of W.Brookfield, her daughters; Julie Murray of Spencer and Jennifer Murray and her husband, Jonathan O'Connor of Plymouth, as well as her grandchildren; Allison Murray, Casey Murray, Curtis Murray and adopted granddaughter, Jordan DaSilva. She also leaves her sisters; Loretta Nguyen and Ann DiMarzo of Woburn and nephew, Jaisyn Duran. She is predeceased by her son, Francis "Frankie" Murray, Jr., who passed away this past October, and her brother, Timothy James Duran, Jr.
She was born in Winchester, daughter of the late Timothy James and Rita (Connolly) Duran. She worked as a gift shop manager at Kandy Korner in Hyannis for over 10 years. She was a hard worker, who took pride in taking care of her family and instilling in them a strong work ethic. She also dedicated her time and participated in a women's group every Thursday for many years. In her spare time, she enjoyed antiquing, flea markets and going to the beach, specifically Kalmus Beach in Hyannis. She was a history enthusiast and enjoyed any discussion related to WWI and WWII, and loved watching old movies. More importantly, she loved spending time with her family.
There are no services at this time at the request of the family.
The J. HENRI MORIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 23 Maple St., Spencer is assisting the family with arrangements.
