Rita L. (Pion) Gouin Harder 83 formerly of 18 Sunset Lane, died Saturday, Aug. 14 at Quaboag on the Common in W.Brookfield.She leaves a daughter, Paulette E. wife of Terrence B. Foster of Wheelright, four brothers Normand Pion of Vista, Calif., Donald Pion of Fiskdale, Paul Pion of Belgrade Lake, Me. and Raymond Dionne of Tampa, Fl., two sisters Laura Bouvier and Pauline Zalauskas both of Spencer, two grandchildren Justin A. Sleeper of Niantic, Ct. and Jessica E. Holler of Wheelright, three step grandchildren Kimberly A. Henrichon of Auburn, Christine S. Tenney of Holland and Scott E. Foster of N.Brookfield, many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by brothers Wallace, Joseph and Frank Pion and sisters Evelyn Hebert and Lorraine Gorman. Her first husband Albert A. Gouin died in 1970.Mrs. Harder workerd at area shoe factories including Thom McCann Co. in Worcester for 8 years before retiring in 1972. She was a member of St. Mary's Church.Born in N.Brookfield, she was the daughter of Francis and Mary (Mitchell) Pion.The funeral will be held Tuesday, Aug. 17 from the J.HENRI MORIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 23 Maple Terr., Spencer with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, 60 Maple St., Spencer. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are Monday, from 6 to 8p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Parkinson's Disease, 720 Harrison Ave., Boston, Ma.
