Robert E. Barnes

Augusta, GA: Robert E. "Barney" Barnes, Jr., 41 died suddenly Wednesday Dec. 10 in Augusta University Hospital. He leaves his father Robert E. Barnes, Sr. of Spencer, his mother Patricia E. (Sanderson) Barnes of Bushnell, FL., his maternal grandmother Mary Sanderson of Spencer, two sisters Judith Whitman of Southbridge and Wendy Saintsing of Spencer, two nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Mr. Barnes was born Worcester and raised in Spencer before moving to Georgia several years ago. He was a 1980 graduate of David Prouty High School in Spencer. Mr. Barnes was an auto body mechanic in Georgia. While living in Spencer he worked at Plante's Auto Body several years. He played baseball in the Spencer Little and Minor Leagues, and was an avid motorcyclist and car racing enthusiast.

A Funeral Service will be held Friday Dec. 12 in J. HENRI MORIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 23 Maple Terrace, Spencer at 12:00 PM (noon). Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Worcester. A calling hour will be held from 11:00 AM-12p.m. Friday. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to: Teen Challenge, 1315 Main Street, Brockton, MA 02301.
