Robert C. Harmon

LEICESTER: Robert C. Harmon, 71, of Rochdale, Massachusetts, passed away on Wednesday, March 27th, 2024 in his home surrounded by family after a courageous battle with cancer. He leaves behind his wife of 49 years, Karol J (Carlson) Harmon, four children; Christine V Harmon & partner Brett Baker of Oakham, Michael R Harmon & partner Kaitlin Naleski of Dudley, Matthew S Harmon & partner Megan Hoey of Framingham and Sarah J Harmon & partner Fabio Minardi of Sutton as well as 7 grandchildren; Tyler A Harmon, Tristan P Dumas, Evelyn J. Minardi, Amelia C. Minardi, Zachary P. Harmon, Cameron M. Harmon and Hazel M. Harmon. He was predeceased by two sisters and leaves behind 2 brothers, 8 sisters and numerous nieces and nephews.

Bob was born in Holden, the 10th of 13 children to Roscoe L. and Mary (Armstrong) Harmon. After Bob graduated from the Worcester Boys Trade School, he honorably joined the United States Air Force and served his country through the Vietnam War and Operation Desert Storm. During his esteemed 28-year tenure as an Airman he also earned a degree from Fisher College. Following his time in the Service, Bob worked as a machinist in the super abrasives division of Saint-Gobain in Worcester until he retired in 2015. Bob was passionate about being a loving and supportive husband, father and grandfather, tending to his bountiful annual garden and watching NASCAR on Sundays. Bob was especially handy and often had a project in the works; he was also the first to willingly lend a hand to help others with anything they needed. Whether you knew him as Bob, Bobby, Dad, Pa or "Hun", he was loved immensely by all.

Memorial calling hours will be held on Saturday, April 13th from 2-4 p.m.in the MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main St., Leicester. A Celebration to honor his life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Veterans, Inc. at 69 Grove St., Worcester, MA 01605 or at veteransinc.org, an organization Bob felt strongly about.
