WORCESTER/DUDLEY/SPENCER: Roland W. "Joe" Perron, 91, of Worcester and formerly of Dudley and Spencer, passed away peacefully on Wed. April 2nd, in Knollwood Nursing Center.

He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Dorothy M. (Szlyk) Perron; a son, Daniel J. Perron and his wife, Lauren; a daughter, Maribeth M. Perron, both of Arlington; a sister-in-law, Carol Perron of Pennsylvania; 3 grandchildren, Cameron, Ryan and Jack; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, Edward and Hubert Perron.

Roland (fondly known as Joe by his friends and family) was born and raised in Spencer, son of the late Clovis & Eva (Lacroix) Perron. He was a graduate of David Prouty High School and Worcester Junior College. He worked in the heavy machinery design field in the Worcester area and beyond for 38 years. He was a Korean War Army Veteran. Roland was a true renaissance man, enjoying many hobbies and interests, including listening to music, playing the keyboard, collecting song sheets, cooking, gardening, and travelling. He also had the gift to fix anything and everything around the house. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus - Whitinsville, Webster-Dudley American Legion Post 184 and the VFW  Post 10088 - Quinebaug, CT.

Funeral services with burial in Mary, Queen of the Rosary Cemetery, Spencer, will be held privately. Memorial contributions may be made either to: American Cancer Society, PO Box 9119, Boston, MA 02117 or to Alzheimer's Disease Research, 22512 Gateway Center Drive, Clarksburg, MD 20871.
