SPENCER: Ronald J. Collette, 76, of Spencer, died Thursday, Aug. 24 in
UMASS Memorial Medical Center, Worcester. He leaves his wife of 51 years, Margaret M. (Carney) Collette, his daughters; Susan Scott and her husband Ross of Shrewsbury, and Julie Collette of Spencer, his brother; Gerald Collette of Warren, a sister; Jeanne Gagnon of East Dennis, MA three grandchildren; Jacob Collette, Thomas Scott and Alyssa Scott, several nieces, and nephews. He is predeceased by
a sister Janice Collette. Ron worked as a design engineer for Neles Jamesbury in Worcester for over 40 years prior to his retirement in 2012.
He was born in Worcester, the son of Normand C. Collette and his wife Jeanette Rose. He graduated from Worcester's South High in 1965, earned a bachelor's degree from Assumption College in Worcester, and later earned a master's degree from Anna Maria college in Paxton.
He also served his country with the US Navy during the Vietnam War. He was a member of Mary Queen of the Rosary Parish and was a former EMT with the Spencer Rescue Squad. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 29th at 10 AM at Our Lady
of the Rosary Church, 7 Church St., Spencer. Friends and family are asked to go directly to the church. A burial with military honors will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery in Worcester. There are no calling hours at his request.
The J.HENRI MORIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 23 Maple Terr., Spencer is directing arrangements for the family.
