Shirley Rose (Gray) Brown

SPENCER: Shirley Rose (Gray) Brown 78, formerly of 18 Grove St., died Monday, Oct. 21 in Quaboag Rehabilitation & Skilled Nursing in W.Brookfield following an illness.

She leaves her husband of 57 years Wesley Z. Brown, her son Dale W. Brown and his wife Laurie of Sutton, and two grandchildren; Riley and Haley Brown of Sutton, her daughter Susan J. Bernardino and her husband James of Charlton, her brother Harris M. Gray, Jr. and his wife Jayne of Brookfield, and a niece and nephew. She is predeceased by her son Scott W. Brown in 1976.

Born in Spencer, she was the daughter of Harris and Louise Gray, Sr. and lived in Spencer for many years and Bradenton, Fl. for 12 years before returning to Spencer in 2008. She was a sales representative at the Bradenton Herald before retiring.

Private graveside services will be held in Pine Grove Cemetery, Spencer at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to either Wing Hospice, 40 Wright St., Palmer, MA 01069 or People for Animals, c/o Sandy Graeff, 6 Kingsbury Rd., Spencer, MA 01562.
