Susan M. Destratis

WORCESTER: Susan M. DeStratis, 68, of Marble St., passed away peacefully Wednesday, Feb. 26th in UMASS Medical Center, Worcester surrounded by her devoted family after a long illness.She leaves her sister; Theresa DeRoy of Worcester, her brother Daniel DeStratis of Leicester, her brother George DeStratis of Marlborough and several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and several cousins. She is predeceased by a brother; Joseph DeStratis and sisters; Barbara DeStratis & Diane Connors.
Susan, affectionately known as "Suzy" was born in Worcester, the daughter of Joseph and Shirley (Greiner) DeStratis. She was raised in Rochdale, and attended Leicester High School. Most recently, she was a hairdresser in Worcester prior to her retirement. One of seven siblings, Suzy enjoyed gathering with her siblings and celebrating her favorite Christmas holiday together. Suzy was surrounded by her new and "forever friends" - those who had been a constant presence in her life. Suzy was a digital creator, artist , poet, songwriter and musician. She had the voice of an Angel. Suzy had a special bond with her cat Cody and he will miss her dearly along with her family and friends.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, March 15th. at 11 a.m. in St. Pius X Church, 1161 Main St., Leicester. There are no calling hours. The MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main St., Leicester, is directing arrangements for the family.
