WORCESTER: Susan E. Lennerton, 78, passed away peacefully at Lutheran Rehabilitation and Long Term
Care on July 26 after a lengthy battle with dementia.
Born in Worcester to Gerald F. and Rita A. (Williamson) Lennerton, Susan was raised in
Leicester and was a graduate of Leicester High School. She was a talented seamstress and
made her living creating custom draperies and decorating accents for many clients.
Susan was a creative person and made beautiful quilts for family members, each one with a
hand stitched pattern. She also knit expertly and made sweaters, scarves and afghans for loved
ones. She had an eye for color and design that just came naturally. Susan was also an excellent
cook known for making the best pies. She was always open to learning a new creative skill and
was a very gifted person.
Susan was a volunteer for many years at the former Hope Lodge. She served on its board of
directors and was passionate about making it a home away from home for cancer patients.
Susan leaves her sister, Joan Whitney and her husband, Russell; nieces, Debra Ritzer and
Laura Cox; nephews, David Blaisdell and Marc Whitney; great nephews, Zachary Mahan,
Gabriel Blaisdell and Colin Whitney and a great great niece, Bennett Ann Mahan.
She was predeceased by her parents and her sister, Ann M. Blaisdell.
The family would like to acknowledge and thank the kind and compassionate caregivers at
Lutheran Long Term Care and Jeppson Rest Home.
Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
