HUBBARDSTON – With hearts full of love and gratitude, we celebrate the life of Sylvia B. Lemerise, 87, who passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, March 29th, surrounded by her cherished family and friends.

Born in Brimfield, MA, Sylvia was the beloved daughter of Edward P. and Blanche E. (Cloutier) Kresco. She was one of six siblings. She shared a special bond with her late brother Edward P. (Sonny) Kresco, and is lovingly remembered by her surviving siblings Donald W. Kresco of Missoula, Montana, Robert P. Kresco and his wife Claire of East Brookfield, Doris A. Woods of Spencer, and Alfred S. Kresco of North Brookfield.  She is also preceded in death by her longtime friend and companion Stanley W. Nussey and her brother in law William Woods.

A proud graduate of St. Peter's High School in Worcester, Class of 1957, Sylvia lived a life enriched by faith, family, and community. She was devoted to her beloved husband, Daniel C. Lemerise, with whom she shared 37 wonderful years of love and partnership. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, and she was a dedicated member of Annunciation Catholic Church in Gardner, MA.

Sylvia had a kind and generous spirit, always finding joy in the simple things; as an avid gardener, she nurtured vibrant flowers and plants with the same care and love she showed to everyone around her. She was a well-known Rietta Flea Market MVP, where she delighted in discovering hidden treasures and connecting with friends old and new. A passionate advocate for wildlife and songbirds, she found peace in nature's beauty and made sure every creature, especially her beloved dog Bella, had a place to call home. And through it all, she was a lifelong, devoted Red Sox fan, cheering for her team with unwavering loyalty.

She was affectionately known as "Auntie", "Aunt Syl" to 13 nieces and nephews, 19 great-nieces and nephews, and 17 great-great-nieces and nephews, each of whom was touched by her kindness, warmth, and gentle spirit.

The family deeply appreciates Sylvia's devoted caregiver, Elizabeth Clarizio, for her compassionate care and unwavering kindness, bringing comfort and spiritual peace to Sylvia.

A calling hour will precede the Mass from 9:45 to 10:45 am. in the funeral home honoring Sylvia's life which will be held on Wednesday, April 2nd, MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main St., Leicester, followed by a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in St. Pius X Church, 1161 Main St., Leicester. She will be laid to rest in Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton, where she will forever be surrounded by the beauty and peace she so dearly loved.

Though Sylvia has left this world, her legacy of love, faith, and kindness will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Aunt Sylvia was as beautiful on the inside as she was on the outside.  May she rest in eternal peace, reunited with loved ones who have gone before her, and forever watching over those she held dear. Memorial donations may be made to Second Chance Animal Services, P.O. Box 136, East Brookfield, MA 01515.
