Teresa B. Doray

Mar 5, 1962 — Jul 22, 2026

Spencer, MA

Teresa Bernadette (King) Doray, 64, of Spencer, passed away on July 22nd with her loving family by her side, after a courageous battle with brain cancer. Born on March 5, 1962, to Arthur E. and Dolores M. (Cournoyer) King, she was a curious, creative, and fun-loving child. She graduated from David Prouty High School in 1980 and soon thereafter met the love of her life, Mark Doray. They married in 1981 and established their home on the very same road where she grew up. There, she raised six children.

Teresa worked hard and dedicated herself first and foremost to her family. Early in her career, she worked in the family business, Doray’s Restaurant. She later worked as a home health aide for 14 years, caring for sick and hospice patients. She established her childcare business, Storybook Bear Childcare, in 2011, which she operated until she was stricken ill. Lovingly known to the children as Mimi, she cared for and nurtured them as if they were her own. She was an engaged member of Mary, Queen of the Rosary Parish where she taught CCD for more than 20 years.

Teresa shared her love of dogs with others and bred three litters of English Springer Spaniels. She maintained her creative nature into adulthood. She enjoyed crafting, especially painting and crocheting, as well as working outside in the yard. Teresa enjoyed many motorcycle rides with Mark, including an amazing cross-country trip where they experienced the beauty of mountains, canyons, waters, and wildlife together. She was fond of camping with her husband, grandchildren, and extended family during the summer months where they made many long-lasting memories. Her family was her pride and joy, and her grandchildren held a very special place in her heart. She loved celebrating life with them, from birthday parties and Christmas in July, to baseball games and dance recitals. Forever a kind-hearted person who welcomed everyone and put others before herself; to know her was to love her. Gone too soon, the world is a better place, simply because she was in it.

Teresa leaves behind her husband of 45 years, Mark, her children, Susan Moore of Spencer and her wife Sheryl, Ryan Doray of North Brookfield, Dustin Doray of Spencer, Lauren Amann of Rutland and her husband Michael, Aaron Doray of East Brookfield and his wife Amy, Jordan Doray of Sturbridge, and nine grandchildren, Samia, Shaylie, Julian, Camdyn, Jace, Adalyn, Arabelle, Abel, and Aryus. Teresa also leaves behind a sister, Julie Delgado of Leominster, a brother, John King of Webster, and many in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents, and brother, Maurice King.

Teresa's funeral will be held, Wednesday, July 29th from the J. HENRI MORIN & SON FUNERAL, 23 Maple Terr., Spencer, with a Mass at 10 A.M. in Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 7 Church St., Spencer.
