Thomas K. Ryant

SPENCER: Thomas K. Ryant, 85, of Spencer, passed peacefully Saturday, Sept. 7th in Auburn Life Care Center. He leaves his wife of 58 years, Helen A. (Sjoberg) Ryant, their son and three daughters ; Thomas P. Ryant and his wife Mary of Westdale, NY, Phyllis I. Warner and her husband Danny of East Brookfield, Lynn K. Kemp of Brookfield and Cindy L. Mundell and her husband Roger Mundell, Jr. of Brookfield, his sisters; Geraldine Hogan of Palmer and Winifred Williams of Arkansas, grandchildren; Emily, Katelyn and Michael Granger, great grandchildren; Colsen and Maverick, many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by a brother Robert Ryant and sisters; Rosalie Pelletier, Kathleen Bigwood, Priscilla Fish and Ruth Hannington. Tom operated the Kenwood Diner for over 20 years alongside his wife Helen and daughter Phyllis, before retiring in 2016. He also was a longtime owner/operator cross country truck driver. Tom enjoyed farming, antique auctions, going to the casino, traveling in his motor home and spoiling his dog "Bud". He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Tom was born in Paxton, the son of Percy C. and Winifred E. (Weed) Ryant. He was a longtime member of the Spencer Board of Health.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Sterling Animal Shelter.
