LEICESTER: Joanne R. Williamson, 86, died on Tuesday, October 17 in Harrington Memorial Hospital, Southbridge. She leaves four sons; Douglas Fongeallaz and his wife, Brigette of Arizona, William Fongeallaz of Arizona, Jeffrey Fongeallaz of New Hampshire, and Andrew Salek and his wife, Bethany of Leicester; nine grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; her brother Phillip Williamson of Shrewsbury; three sisters Jean Bennett of Webster, Elizabeth Bradley of Virginia, and Mary Molis of Auburn. She was predeceased by her son Timothy Fongeallaz, who died in 2017, and two brothers Christopher and John Williamson. She was born in Webster, daughter of John and Doris (Low) Williamson. She was an interpreter and the head basket maker at Old Sturbridge Village. She was a member of the Leicester Historical Society, the Leicester Garden Club and Leicester Mother's Club. She also volunteered for Leicester Meals on Wheels, serving the local community. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, sewing and knitting. More importantly, she enjoyed spending time with her family. Memorial calling hours will be held from 2-4 PM in the MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main St., Leicester on Nov 12, 2023
The family will be having a celebration of life after the calling hours at a local restaurant.
